Liebster Award 2015

This is so awesome! I have been nominated for a Liebster Award from two bloggers. This award is given by bloggers who feel that a blog has a bright future ahead. I am honored that in under a year more people have recognized my work and how much I give of myself to each reader. This is a way of getting to know other bloggers and gaining more readers.

If you want to accept the award, you have to:
~Say thank you to the person who nominated and link their blog
~Copy paste the Liebster badge on your post

~Nominate 10 other bloggers with less than 200 followers

~Answer the ten questions the person who nominated you asked, and then make ten more for the bloggers you nominate.
~Nominate the 10 bloggers by leaving a comment on their blog.
I was nominated by Mak over at Finding Mak and the ladies at Enlightenment For Schmucks. Thank you ladies!
                                                                      Questions from Mak
~What have you always wanted? Did you get it?
I’ve always wanted to help others with my gifts. I’ve just started to see this happen with the blog and many conversations with people.
~What made you decide to start blogging?
I decided to start clogging because I was going through some things and learning, but I didn’t have anyone to talk to but God. So I decided that I should share these lessons with others because I’m not the only person going through difficult times.
~What is your greatest strength or weakness?
My greatest weakness is not knowing how to talk about my accomplishments because I tend to feel that I am bragging and I don’t want to do that when talking about myself.
~If you could have personally witnessed an event in history, what would it be and why?
If I could personally witness an event in history it would have to be the Harlem Renaissance. With all of those artists and writers I would lose my mind.
~What type of music do you listen to?
gospel, r&b, neo-soul
~What cheers you up?
Lots and lots of ice cream. And chocolate covered strawberries (thank you Shari’s Berries lol)
~Who is your idol?
I don’t have an idol, but I do admire the work that Tyra Banks has done as business woman.
~What is your proudest habit you have broken or want to break?
My proudest habit that I’ve broken is going to sleep at a decent time (I can’t help it I love to read late at night)
~What is your favorite and least favorite word?
Fav- Awesome! Least- Classy
~What did you do to celebrate your last birthday?
I read a few blogs, watched tv, and later that night went to eat with my birthday twin and family.

Questions from Enlightenment For Schmucks

1. You as a little kid. What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a pediatrician.

2. When did you discover your passion for the written word?

In elementary I loved writing poetry.

3. Is there anyone who is your inspiration?

My inspiration is my sister. She was sick when I was in high school and I didn’t know if things would get bad, but by God’s grace things got better. Now she is married with 3 kids and has a small business.

4.What is the most powerful moment of your life?

The most powerful moment in my life was when my visa application was denied to go to India. I realized that everything I did to get the means to pay for the trip were not directed by God and I needed to leave school. Once I began to follow his directions I was lead to learn how to give my all to my blog and start freelancing.

5. What piece of advice would you give someone younger than you?

I would say don’t do what everyone expects of you. Ask God to show you your gifts and to give you opportunities to use them. Follow Him and you will be fine no matter what everyone says especially your family.

6. What is your favorite cereal?

I don’t eat cereal.

7. What is your favorite cartoon?

Tom & Jerry

8. Who is your favorite author and why?

Timothy Keller. He explains things very well and in a way that is simple and anyone that was doubtful about the subject at hand will come away feeling enlightened.

9. Who is your favorite musician and why?

She’s not a musician, but I would have to say Jill Scott. She is an amazing songstress and songwriter. Every time she performs a song it’s always different than the last way she performed it.

10. Since there are no limits, what are your dreams and goals?

I hope to grow my blog and transition into a business where I help people see their potential and guide to start their own businesses. I also would love to have a non profit for children that are in the arts and want to be exposed to that world.
